Trip Highlights
The Wonder of Erosion
Glory hole Falls flows through a hole drilled out by Dismal Creek over centuries. It is speculated that this feature was caused by an obstacle in the streams path that created hydrological vortex eroding or drilling into the bluff shelter.
Photographers on the Trail
Glory Hole Falls is located within the Dismal Creek Special Interest Area, an area protected for it’s unique botanical features. This makes the trail a great option for those wanting to photograph wildflowers in the Spring. The springtime, also presents the best time to see the falls flowing while the ground is saturated during the rainy season. If you are lucky enough to visit this waterfall during the wintertime (after days of freezing temperatures) you may even be able to see the rare sight of Glory Hole Falls as a solid column ice.
Use Caution
The trail to Glory Hole falls is pretty easy going on the way down but it is fairly steep on the way back out. The area around the falls can also be quite slippery and there are several high rock ledges. Please use caution and keep an eye on kids.
